Drake - Take Care
Drake is quite a new artist to the music industry, as this is his 2nd album to be released. The album is quite a slow depressing feel it although he does have 1 or 2 upbeat tracks such as "the motto" compared to his first album which where all quite upbeat tracks. The album cover is really simple although very effective. Having Drake in quite fancy clothing wearing alot of gold jewellery, sitting at a table with a gold goblet and a candle in a gold candle holder, shows that he has reached the "high life" which he was not use to before, the gold goblet is a very good status symbol. This shows quite a confident cocky person showing that he has made it in life, yet Drakes facial expression is quite depressed which you wouldnt expect from someone showing that he has made it in life. This portrays that being rich and famous isnt all it is cracked up to be, with a few of his songs you will hear quite a few of the problems he has faced, especially with women from his past. Drake is also sitting alone this shows that he became succesful on his own and that he does not trust anyone, especially since the lyrics in some of his song are " i dont trust these hoes at all".
Rihanna- Russian Roulette
This shows quite a dark side of rihanna, this is when she went through a dramatic fashion change, as well as music. Her music started to have quite a dark feel to it compared to her previous music when she was known as a fun loving girl. This also shows that rihanna has become a women rather to her long brown hair with her unique smile. Rihanna is showing quite a lot of skin making this image quite 'sexy'. Using reds, blacks and greys gives a really dark evil environment to the image as well as the R looks like it is made out of blades, again exhaggerating the dark evil concept. Rihanna's also covered in barbed wire showing a huge fashion statement, maybe even a religious statement due to the fact jesus had barbed wire around his head when he was pinned to the cross. This made rihanna a great fashion icon
